Hayes & Porter (a trading name of Senft Media LTD) respects your privacy and wants you to understand exactly what happens to your information when you shop with us. This policy covers what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it — under Irish law and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

What We Collect, and Where It Comes From

Most of what we hold about you, you give us directly — when you place an order, create an account, sign up for emails, or contact our support team. This includes your name, delivery and billing address, email, phone number, and payment details (though we never store your full card number — see our Payment Policy.

Some information is collected automatically as you browse: your device and browser type, IP address, and how you interact with the site, mostly via cookies (see below). And a smaller amount comes from third parties we work with — our payment processor, fulfilment partners, and Shopify, which powers the store itself.

Cookies & Similar Technology

We use cookies and similar tools to keep your basket working, remember your preferences, understand how the site is used, and — where you've agreed to it — show you relevant ads. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work properly without them.

How We Use Your Information

Mainly, to run the store: processing orders and payments, arranging shipping, handling returns, and providing customer support when you get in touch. We also use it to keep the site secure and prevent fraud, and — where you've opted in — to send marketing emails about new arrivals or offers. You can unsubscribe from marketing at any time via the link in any email we send. Occasionally, we may need to use your information to meet a legal obligation, such as responding to a valid request from a regulator.

Who We Share It With

We share information only where it's needed to run the business: with Shopify (our hosting and e-commerce platform), our payment processor, and our fulfilment/logistics partners. We may also share limited data with marketing platforms to run ads, in line with your cookie preferences. We don't sell your personal information to third parties.

Because Shopify processes data on our behalf and also uses certain data across its wider platform to provide security and performance features, some of your information may be shared with Shopify in that capacity too — see Shopify's own Privacy Policy for details on that relationship.

Your Rights Under GDPR

As someone shopping from Ireland or elsewhere in the EU, you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct it if it's inaccurate or incomplete
• Delete it, in most circumstances
• Restrict or object to certain processing, including marketing
• Receive a copy of your data in a portable format
• Withdraw consent at any time, where we're relying on it

Keeping Your Data Safe, and How Long We Keep It

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect your information, though no online system is ever 100% risk-free. We keep personal data only as long as we genuinely need it — to fulfil your order, meet our legal and tax obligations, or resolve any disputes — and delete or anonymise it once that need has passed.

International Transfers

Some of our service providers (including Shopify and our fulfilment partners) may process data outside Ireland or the EEA. Where that happens, we rely on approved safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, unless the destination country is already recognised as offering an adequate level of protection.

Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please contact us first at info@hayesandporter.com so we can try to put it right. You can also lodge a complaint directly with Ireland's Data Protection Commission (DPC), or with the Office of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection in Cyprus, where Senft Media LTD is registered.

Children

Our Services aren't intended for anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us their information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted here with an updated "Last updated" date.
